Preparing your favorite dishes doesn't have to be a chore. With the popularity of Air Fryers, you can not only reduce the time of cooking but also eat healthier. These appliances claim to be a better alternative because they do not require oil and that cuts down on the amount that is consumed with every meal.
Let's take a look at the Power XL Vortex air fryer.
PROS:
- Pre-Set Options
- Easy to Operate
- Cooks Fast
CONS:
- Sometimes food is too crispy or not crispy enough.
- Crispy on the outside but not in the middle
- Food can get stuck to the basket.
The Power XL Vortex was the first air fryer I tried. The design is interesting and it's not too heavy, but you have to hold the lid when moving it because it can fly out a little. Since it can get hot at the bottom it recommended that you use padding to prevent damage to the surface it's placed on. I use a small rubber car mat and that works well. I like that there is a book that gives you examples of what you can cook with this product.
Using the air fryer is easy, especially with the presets on the unit. Some things I have prepared using the air fryer include French fries, Chicken Wings, Bacon, Hamburgers, Hotdogs, Steak. Adding vegetables and seasoning is simple and doesn't affect how the air fryer works.
What I Like
What I like about the Power XL Vortex the presets are a great benefit that allow me to customize the settings. You don't have to go with the specific time and temperature of each preset. You can select any option and then choose your own settings or just start the machine without these presets. This air fryer will turn off automatically when the timer goes off.
What I didn't like
What I didn't like about this air fryer is how it leaves some parts of food really crispy and other areas soft requiring more than one round of cooking even with the presets.
Also, food can get stuck or burned onto the basket so, it's definitely a good idea to use foil or something else to line the basket.
Overall, I found that you can cook nearly anything using this unit. Although there are some cons, this is a good choice for people who are curious about this brand/model or want something that is a good sized, easy to operate air fryer.
